2024-2025 TFC Fellowship Application Open for Alaskans

As we enter Pride month, and our own season of Tend, we are excited to announce the first-ever open application process for our TRANSform Culture (TFC) Fellowship! We hope this new process will amplify the reach of our fellowship while helping us more equitably identify new fellows.

Please Note: In 2024 We Have One Open Fellowship Only and Will Only Be Accepting Applications from Applicants in Alaska.

This fellowship project is part of our Community Advocacy, Research, and Education (CARE) Department and is the product of three generations of Departmental leadership by and for Transgender+ people. The goal of our CARE Department is to help nourish a Northwest that is inhospitable to harm directed at LGBTQ+ communities. Our TRANSform Culture Program, and the TFC Fellowship especially, is our unapologetic commitment to centering and sustaining Trans, Nonbinary, Intersex, and Two-Spirit (2STNBI) individuals and communities in the service of that goal.

The TFC fellowship currently consists of ten fellowship slots (two per Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington) for 2STNBI individuals who are Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC). The fellowship runs twelve months starting on June 1st and ending the following May 31st of every year. During the year, fellows learn and practice narrative justice skills, receive career support and professional development, and build community with other 2STNBI people in the Northwest. Each fellow receives a one-time stipend of $15,000 for the fellowship year.  This stipend is paid out, subject to applicable tax-related rules and regulations.

You can read more about our new process, the details of fellowship participation, our current priorities for recruitment, review the application questions before submitting, and fill out an application via our new portal here.

The new representative from Alaska chosen through this open application process will be joining the nine remaining inaugural cohort members to complete our 2024-2025 cohort. Graduates of our fellowship project can join our alumni project and access additional personal and professional development opportunities while helping to shape the future of the fellowship.

The priority deadline is June 17, 2024. If you are in Alaska and meet our eligibility criteria, we highly encourage you to apply!

For any questions about the CARE Department’s work, or anything else related to Pride Foundation’s mission to celebrate and sustain LGBTQ+ livelihoods and joy, please contact our Director of CARE, Omni (omni@pridefoundation.org).

The 2025-2026 fellowship cycle application will open in the Spring of 2025 and will be the first cycle during which all fellowships will be available for application.
